Based on the vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2030, which aims to create a vibrant, well-rooted society, based on moderate Islam, belonging to the homeland, and pride in its history, present, and future, that allows everyone different life choices, and to build a prosperous economy based on a diversified economic base to launch businesses and provide job opportunities for all Saudis, and to build a homeland. An ambition through a high-performance government characterized by effectiveness, transparency, accountability, attention and focus on digital transformation, and a move towards a digital economy built on knowledge, creativity and innovation.
For these reasons, we, in the Council of University Affairs, seek to improve the university education system and enhance its scientific, research and societal standing at the local, regional and international levels, with the growing concept of the Saudi knowledge economy and knowledge society and the increasing requirements and needs of development, through developing academic, administrative and financial performance, by establishing legislative and regulatory structures. In order to support universities and enable them to perform their functions efficiently and effectively within an efficient institutional framework, respond to development challenges and labor market needs, and prepare national competencies in all fields.
The establishment of the electronic portal of the General Secretariat of the Council for University Affairs comes within the framework of the Council’s efforts that seek to build a solid digital foundation that supports the directions of the Kingdom’s vision aimed at enhancing the role of universities in achieving sustainable development. The portal works to provide information and news related to the tasks and activities of the Council for University Affairs, and to facilitate the process of Communication between the Council and the beneficiaries of its services. This website also constitutes a reference through which those interested in the university education sector, including students, officials, parents, as well as educational institutions, can obtain all information related to legislation and what is issued by the Council easily and conveniently.
In conclusion, the University Affairs Council appreciates the unlimited care and support that the education sector in general, and university education in particular, receives from our wise government under the leadership of my Lord, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Highness the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman – may God protect them – for universities. This brought about a distinct qualitative shift in her educational and research career.
